Hank Haney – Golf Swing Plane

So today I am going to post further coverage of Hank Haney’s lecture in Irvine. The topic for today is on swing plane and some of the differences between amateur and professional players positioning and back swing. I have much more to process so please be patient, I am going to be posting them up as I get the clips done. Sorry about the other camera guy in the way, he was totally annoying.

So, a couple of things that are really well explained is the back swing and the plane that golfers really want to be conscience of. I certainly feel that having a good swing arch is essential to a solid hit. There will be a complete post on what I have learned about swing plane but I am no expert and am still adjusting to find a good repetitive motion that I can rely on.

Another point that he made in the clip is the beginning of the back swing to make sure that your arch is “breaking” early enough and without an excessive sweep behind the ball. I make sure that I do sweep in a straight line behind the ball about 12-15″ just to make sure I am inline with the sweet spot.  This works for me personally, but I believe it is up to you and what you are comfortable with.

Hope you are enjoying the clips and are learning something, please feel free to comment on your opinions.
